As you've probably gathered by now, the Hammer Family doesn't "do" plastic anymore. We've been replacing items within and around the kitchen gradually, as it can be an expensive process. One of our newest additions to the kitchen are simply beautiful, handcrafted wooden utensils made by Jonathan's Wild Cherry Spoons (the product line involves much more than spoons!)

"The perfect gift for holiday giving. Handcrafted in Pennsylvania from sustainable harvest wood. Beautiful and functional these wooden utensils bring a sense of beauty and inspiration to any kitchen"
I was given the opportunity to replace two items in my kitchen with Jonathan's Wild Cherry brand products.
On the top of the photo, you can see my old, plastic spaghetti fork utensil. The Jonathan's brand spaghetti fork comes in a few styles. The one I have is the basic Wild Cherry one and it's 14 inches long.

I have a tall spaghetti pot, and I was happy using this utensil because I could reach to the bottom of the pot and stir gently without tearing up my pasta or having any stick to the pot. Twirling the pasta was easier, and I was able to make cute little spaghetti stacks on the dinner plates by dropping them off this fork. It has a flat bottom, so as you can see, if you set the coffee scoop down full of coffee, it won't spill. Nice feature, but I've never needed to put a full coffee scoop anywhere other than in the brewer filter.
I simply love these items, they're so well made and I can tell they will be around for a long time. If you're interested in purchasing any Jonathan's Spoons items off of their website, use code:

These are so cute! I had wondered about the crazy spoon I kept seeing before (noodle) but now I get how they are used. http://homemom3.com
